The Third day's Game...The best so far!!!!

"You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four " These were the words of Dan Birdwell........ Now on the third day of the game estadio mec was really on fire...The first game was between MES Kuttippuram and School of Enginnering Cusat...What a game it was...Sometimes the MES' s game reminded us of ARGENTINA..Briliant control of the ball, exact passes, and above all they knew the game..To score a goal within 5 minutes the game started is not a silly thing and there wouldn't be much teams capable of doing that..MES wasn't one among them for sure!!! their team co-ordination was superb that the first goal was of so fantastic!!! Even the commentators were stunned and werent able to beleive it was a goal...during the second half they proved themselves again..scored once more..Cusat was playing the rough game and one of their players even got a red card..But accordin to sevens rule a player can continue playing the match even if he gets a red card and so cusat dint lose a man in the middle..during the second half cusat was able to retaliate with 2 goals and then also scored their winning goal..and even though mes was able to gain the initial momentum they werent able to carry it to the next half..but one thing is for sure..they take back the wellwishes and hearts of the crowd with them.....
The second game had defending champions mec-a team going against college of engineering chengannur..this game was supposed to be a tough game..college of engineering chengannur is well known for their footballing legacy and mec-A is the defending champion..So anything could have happened..But MEC-A proved why they were champions..They were just superb..Jeril scored the goal for mec-
A in the first half and then there was duleep who displayed the class of our players...Nikul constantly attacked the opposite team with his tackling skills and there was rockstrong defence set up by nubin anoop and edison..The goal keeper bijin was the crowds favorite..the crowd was roaring for each and every save he made..And when the final whistle blew MEC-A reserved their tickets to the semi finals...Now only two question's remain.....will mec-b also reach the semi finals with tomorrows match and will the final match be the ideal final..MEC-A v/s MEC-B....That's something worth waiting....wow..........i'm thrilled :)

GIRLS CAN SCORE TOO!!! ELJUEGO ROCKS!!!

Now that is what football is about!!!! no girl boy difference....The informals section on the third day of EDEX ELJUEGO 2K9 contained an element of surprise in it..The penalty shootout time for girls..We announced the event after the first game and wanted 3 girls to come forward..And the crowd proved itself..There was immense response to the event..Three girls (Pretty, Geethu and Faseela volunteered immediately)..Jobil was the Goal keeper..The rules were simple..Girls have to take a shoot at the post..The Goal keeper wouldnt be allowed to touch the ball by hand..The participants had immense support from the crowd..First chance was pretty's..She gave it her best shot but jobil was fortunate enough to block it...The audience were roaring..Then came geethus chance..she din't look like a person who can score a goal..Looked like she was acting :)...and that worked..she fooled jobil and scored a goal..WOW!! I dint think a girl could score a goal that easily..The one to prove her skill was faseela..Her kick proved itself to be a sheer display of raw power..Even though jobil was able to block the kick the audience could see him massaging his leg after sometime :).....Now do i hear some male chauvinists whispering behind my back???? :)

MEC B PROVES THEIR METTLE.......

wow........What a game that was..A fantastic display of footballing skills taking the whole game to a new level..The second day of Edex el-juego 2k9 proved to be a much better one than the inaugral day..If yesterday saw a not so noticeable decrease in the audience because it was a sunday then today was the exact opposite..The whole ground was full of football lovers both from the college and also outside.The winners of yesterdays game FISAT was matching their skills with MAC Kothamangalam in the first game..MAC team was less themselves this year with their gaming style having gone a drastic chnge..But FISAT was still at their best and in the first game they scored 2 BIG GOALS against the famed MAC kothamangalam..
But the game that everyone was waiting was not this..They were here to cheer their favorites, the home team led by Renjith MEC-B...MEC -B was up against St.Joseph's Pala...While the teams lined up the theme music of the uefa cup was played in the background to which the crowd responded with great applause and cheer..Nishad sir greeted the teams and then the ball kicked off..MEC B started with Santhosh mukkkadan attacking the goal area of St.Joseph's Pala which made something clear.."THEY ARE HERE NOT ONLY TO GIVE IT THEIR BEST, BUT TO MAKE ALL MECIAN's PROUD AND TO WIN THE GAME".. St.Joseph's Pala was also very good continuosly attacking mec's goal post with dangerous moves.But MEC-B's goal keeper Amith proved to be very good saving all the attacks with his brilliant moves..The game was very fast and the atmosphere in the stadium was a once in lifetime experience..And then cam e the moment..Scaria who plays the defender came up with a brilliant tackle confusing SJCET's goal keeper and shot the ball at the post...GOAL............The whole stadium burst out..Then MEC-B scored again in the second half..Mid fielder Santhosh mukkadan was the playmaker here...He passed the ball onto dilshan who proved that he never misses a chance...There came the second goal of the game..St.Joseph's Pala was continuously trying to return the goal but MEC-B's defence was safe in the hands of Vineeth aka Paappi Scaria and Sheffin...Thus MEC-B proved themselves to be a tough contestent for the EDEX ELJUEGO CUP..During the half times there were interactive games for the audience like shoot out which proved to be a crowd puller too..Tomorrow's match feature's MEC-A team..Let us wait to see them in action...

The Heat is on!!!!

Yes!!!! Finally the heat is on...All Kerala inter-collegiate football touranament EDEX EL-JUEGO just kicked off yesterday at Estadio MEC at sharp 4.00 PM. The first match was between Rajagiri School of Engineering and College of Engineering, Chengannur. The event started with the Head of the Physical Education Department Mr.Johnson Philip greeting both teams. Even though it was a Sunday there was great rush at the estadio mec to watch the match. And the crowd wasn't disappointed..They got they came for..A fair and breathtaking display of the game by the teams..The first game was swept by the College of Engineering, Chenganur for 3-1 despite Rajagiri's good efforts to get back to the game..The second match began at around 5:30..The match was between Federal Institute of Technology, Ankamaly and Rajiv Gandhi institute of Technolgy, Pambaady..This proved itself to be more intresting than the previous game because the audience was getting excited by this time... There was continuous applause and cheers from all parts of the stadium thereby making the atmosphere more tense..Finally came the goal..and it was FISATS DAY..Even though both the teams displayed an equal display of skill luck was FISATS and they were able to live with it..Finally the final whistle blew and all the audience broke out into continuos applause thereby making the inaugral section a memorable one..
